Summer 2019 President's Message, Patricia Pavlak

President’s Message

Summertime and the living is easy…”

Whether your pleasure is an umbrella planted at the ocean’s edge, or a shady spot by a tranquil lake, summer is the time to take advantage of all the natural beauty our state has to offer.  Time to take a deep breath, look around and enjoy the long, warm days.

Summer is also the time when our libraries see patrons they may not see during the rest of the year.  All that free time requires a good book!  Our libraries are filled with children, excited about summer reading and all the special programs available on hot summer days.  Is your library ready for these new visitors?  Impress these newcomers so they’ll want to stick around long after summer is a memory.

Think ahead to the fall and any tasks your board needs to address before year end.  If continuing education credits are on your mind ( remember every board needs seven hours yearly to qualify for state aid) it’s not too late to register for our trustee workshop on September 7 in Cherry Hill.  See our calendar page for registration information.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have a decision to make.  Beach or lake?  Where will I read my book?

See you in September!
